Agra Tourist Places: Agra is a very popular city of India situated at the bank of the Yamuna River in the west of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is about 363 Km away from state capital Lucknow and 200 km away from National Capital New Delhi. The official language is Hindi while Urdu is also in use. The city was established in the Mahabharat period and Maharishi Angira in 1000BC. But history says Sikandar Lodi who was the ruler of Delhi Sultanate founded Agra in 1504. Agra was the city of many Mughal emperor Akbar, Jahangir and Shahjahan. It was also known as Akabarabad in the period of Akbar and Shahjahanabad in the period of Shahjahan in 1689.

Taj Mahal of Agra- Taj Mahal of Agra is the major attraction of the city and world heritage site. It was built by a Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his queen Mumtaj Mahal. Taj Mahal is every day open to visit from morning 6 am to 7:30 pm except Friday.

Agra Fort – Agra Fort is another historical monument built by Mughal Emperor Akbar. You can visit this place every day from morning to evening.

Tomb of I’timad-ud-Daulah  – Tomb of I’timad-ud-Daulah is a historical monument of Mughals situated in Agra city.

Tomb of Akbar the Great – This tomb was situated in 1613 at Sikandra, Agra Uttar Pradesh. It is a good example of Mughal Architectural style.

Chini ka Rauza – Chini ka Rauza is a monument established in 1635 at Etmadpur, Agra Uttar Pradesh.

Jama Masjid – There are two famous mosques in the city one is Jama Masjid Fatehpur Sikri and the second is Jama Masjid of Agra which is located at Moti Katra, Mantola, Agra Uttar Pradesh.
